How to wash a dog?

If you need to wash the dog, then do it right, so as not to harm its health.

For washing the animal, it is advisable to use special shampoos (now there is a wide variety of them at the pet store) or, as a last resort, soap. But rub the soap on the dog’s coat is impossible. Therefore, the soap is rubbed on a coarse grater or crushed with a knife, then mixed with water until foam is formed. Water should not be hot, but warm. The washing is carried out according to the following scheme: first, in the place of the collar it is good to wet the wool, then do it around the ears, but so that moisture does not get on the mucous membranes. Then soak all the hair on the dog’s body, without touching the muzzle. Cotton swabs are placed in the ears before washing, and after washing and drying the dogs are removed.

It is not recommended to wash dogs more than once every three months. The fact is that their skin glands secrete the necessary lubricant for wool in very small quantities. Due to the frequent flushing of this grease, the animal’s fur is made inelastic, brittle and dull due to the loss of natural luster.

Smooth-haired dogs try not to wash at all. But they clean their wool in another way: a mixture of vodka, water and table vinegar is taken in equal parts. This mixture is wiped all the dog’s hair, trying not to touch the mucous membranes. Before the procedure, cotton swabs are also inserted into the ears in order to avoid water and after it are removed.

After washing, the dog is thoroughly rubbed with a soft, dry cloth, then gently combed with a special brush. A long-haired dog can be blow-dried if it is not afraid of its sharp sound.

Doing everything according to the rules, you do not harm your dog, and she will be grateful for your care.
